Importing videos from other tools

Dockable doesn't care where a video was made. Anything with spoken content can become searchable knowledge — your back catalog of Loom walkthroughs is often the fastest way to fill a new workspace.

Ways to get video in

All of these live under Create Content in the sidebar:

• Upload Recording — any common video file (MP4, WebM, MOV…). Drag and drop or pick from disk.
• Import from Loom — bring Loom recordings across, so years of "let me show you real quick" become searchable.
• Import from YouTube — pull in a YouTube video (yours or public training content) for transcription and search.
• Import from Zoom / Meet — bring meeting recordings in, turning meetings into searchable records.
• Upload Document — PDFs and documents can be indexed alongside video, so Ask AI can answer from both.

Whatever the source, imports run through the same pipeline as recordings: transcription, summary, chapters, and search indexing.

What matters for quality

The transcript is only as good as the audio. Clear speech imports beautifully; a meeting where three people talk over each other will produce a messier transcript. For content you control, a deliberate narrated recording beats a repurposed meeting.

Is there a length or size limit?

Single uploads support multi-gigabyte files. Very long recordings simply take proportionally longer to transcribe.

Do imported videos count differently from recordings?

No — once in the Library, every video has the same features: editing, documents, Ask AI, collections, and sharing.
